OUR TIMES OF JOY

ABOUT

OUR TIMES OF JOY is a short drama that follows a day in the life of a young couple— a girl with a strained relationship with her mother, and her boyfriend who seems to be pulling her into a destructive lifestyle. Made during my second year at AFTRS as an extra-curricular project, it was another collaboration between Annabel Newland, Ruby Langsworth, Adrian Oliver and myself. It was shot over the course of three days on a shoestring budget with minimal crew.

We used gear available to us from AFTRS (an FS5 MK2, some Zylights, among others) to shoot the film. It is still being worked on in post-production, but I have graded some of my own stills to showcase our work.

Once again, my style shines through in the project— utilising a lot of handheld motion, far-side key lights, and shallow depth of field. I am very proud of the work we put into this scrappy little film, and I cannot wait to share more with everyone once the time comes.
